Definitions

In a right angle triangle:

  • sinx = perpendicular(p)/ hypotenuse(h) or opposite side/hypotenuse
  • cosx = base(b)/hypotenuse(h) or adjacent side/hypotenuse
  • tanx = perpendicular (p)/base (b) or opposite side/adjacent side = sinx/cosx
